Delhi girl happy on 'rishta' with television

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) Just the other day she was like any other girl in Delhi but life is now singing a totally different tune for Hina Khan, after the success of her serial 'Ye Rista kya Kehlata Hai'.

Hina, who plays the main protagonist Akshara in the popular serial, says that her acting stint was totally unplanned.

"Just the other day I was like any other college going girl living a normal life in Delhi. My friends just insisted to give the audition. I too thought of giving it a try and luckily by God's grace I was selected," quips the management student who still balancing her studies with her acting.

She is grateful to the producer of the show as also the directors "for nurturing" her acting skills.

"I am still on the process of learning. Everything is so different and new and I come from a totally non-filmi background so initially it was a bit tough to catch up things," she says.

On her character Hina feels that Akshara is quite similar to her as she too comes from a close knit family.

"Akshara is a simple girl. She comes from a traditional Marwari family and believes in her values. She is loved and pampered by all the family members. I am basically from Kashmir but I grew up in Delhi and now settled in Mumbai," she rattles. PTI
