Not so, if the student is an 80-year-old man who has been attending classes, year after year, for the last 40 years!Meet retired professor M K Prem whose thirst for learning has seen him enrolling for courses one after another since 1943 at the Rajasthan University, making him perhaps one of the oldest students ever.The about 5-ft clean shaven retired professor who is currently in final year of M A (psychology) had been actively pursuing academics after his retirement in 1981 from the MREC- Malvia National Engineering College (presently the Malvia National Institute of Technology)."I am fond of studies and started learning right from the year 1944 when I took admission in MA English at Meeerut College," Prem told PTI."After completing it in 1946 I started teaching at various colleges including Mahanand Mission College Ghaziabad, Modi College Modi Nagar), Hindu College Sonipat, Municipal College Vrindavan, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani and SD College in Barnala before finally joining MREC Jaipur in 1964," he says.Born on September 1921 Prem has so far done BSc (1943), MA -English (1946), MA Economics (1957) MBA (1968), M Phil (1977) LLB (1991), PG diploma in Taxation law (1992 ), PG diploma in Criminology (1998), BA (2006), LLM (One paper due)- 2007).
