Tata Motors, one of India`s largest automobile producers, is gearing up its distribution network, for aggressively supporting its future car launches, especially the high-profile Nano, reports Economic Times.
The auto major will be launching Xenon, a premium lifestyle pick-up vehicle for personal usage, which will be followed by the Rs 1-lakh Nano before the end of the financial year. Thus, the company has asked all its dealerships to strengthen manpower to provide efficient customer service.
The first Nano will roll out from Pantnagar manufacturing plant of Tata Motors, (Q, N,C,F)* the car will focus on semi-urban and rural markets.
As per dealers, the bookings will start at the end of this month and deliveries will begin by March 2009. The company`s current dealer network for passenger cars will also be tapped for distributing Nano.
Shares of the company gained Rs 1.35, or 1.01%, to end at Rs 134.60. The total volume of shares traded was 285,858.00 at the BSE (Thursday).
