Dubai, Feb 3 (PTI) The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) has donated a power plant of 320 MW capacity to the people of Pakistan to help them overcome their current energy crisis.
Pakistan's minister for water and power, Raja Pervez Ashraf termed the donation as "a goodwill gesture on the part of UAE for the people of Pakistan". The announcement has been made after Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the President of UAE, promised the same during his visit to Pakistan recently.
Ashraf said that the people of Pakistan will always remember this precious gift, which they are receiving with love and sincerity from a brotherly country like UAE, a statement issued by UAEs official news agency Wam, said.
The minister said that he would travel to UAE to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with concerned UAE authorities in this regard. PTI
