Kiwis challenge Dhoni to bungee jump

Even before the series with New Zealand commences on February 25, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a challenge on hand.

Tourism Auckland has thrown down the gauntlet at him to 'Bungee' from the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge, which is surrounded by azure waters and a panoramic view.

Given his passion for sports and adventure it is most likely that the 27-year-old who is the top ranked One-Day International batsman will take the 40-metre plunge.

Tourism Auckland chief executive, Graeme Osborne, says, "India is a strong growth market for Auckland tourism and we look forward to hosting Mahendra Singh Dhoni with the Indian team during the upcoming tour. Auckland is a culturally vibrant, cosmopolitan hub of outstanding nightlife, adventure, shopping and spectacular ocean-side scenery that has something for everyone.

We want the team to experience the best of what Auckland has to offer and a bungee off our iconic harbour bridge is a superb way to see the city in all its glory."

Auckland, New Zealand's largest city is home to the world's first harbour bridge bungee jump. Operated by the bungee originals -- AJ Hackett Bungee -- this jump is a must for those who dare.
