Water seepage, improper lighting, non-cleanliness and awful infrastructure at Delhi Metro stations made Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit 'unhappy' on Thursday morning who undertook a surprise visit of Metro stations.
A Delhi government spokesman said, the chief minister received general complaints through e-mails and letters from commuters.
She was accompanied by the chief secretary Rakesh Mehta, her principal secretary PK Tripathi and commissioner, transport RK Verma visited the Metro network at central secretariat.
The spokesman said, "She was satisfied with maintenance of the coaches. Signages was also in perfect position. However, she noticed deterioration in cleanliness," adding that she was concerned over the seepage at Rajiv Chowk station.
The CM instructed the DMRC to take all possible measures to ensure cleanliness and better service. Recently, a monitoring committee comprising of the MCD, DMRC and the Delhi police has also been constituted to oversee maintenance outside the stations.
