Fire disrupts all Airtel services

Mobile services provided by Airtel were disrupted yesterday, as Peninsula Chambers housed the service provider's network tower.
The transformers providing electrical supply to the network towers were damaged, which meant Airtel users across Mumbai did not have any cell phone reception. The fire affected the first floor and second floor of the building that houses Airtel offices.
An Airtel spokesperson said, "The fire has impacted our network services only in some areas of Mumbai. We have made provisions to route our customers' calls.
he 20 per cent customers that were affected should be able to resume calling soon." But even as this edition was put to bed at 12 am, services did not resume.
