New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has received a grant of Rs.2 crore from the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development to offer a diploma course in Watershed Management.
This is for the first time in the country the course will be offered by the IGNOU's School of Agriculture (SOA).
Students after class X or having Bachelor in Participatory Programme (BPP) are eligible to pursue this diploma programme from IGNOU.
The programme has been designed to give emphasis on how to develop more and more watershed covers in the available landmass, conserve water and fine tuning of techniques to grow more crops.SOURCe: http://www.indiaedunews.net
